Calvert County Interagency Council for Children and Families

Calvert County Interagency Council for Children and Families

The Calvert County Interagency Council's mission is to assemble local agencies, non-profits, and businesses to collaborate, network, and share information to empower Calvert County children, youth and families. Formed in the early 1990s, the Council is comprised of representatives from over 50 local child and family-serving agencies or providers. A steering committee provides oversight. The Council holds a meeting the first Monday of the month, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the College of Southern Maryland, from September to June. Meetings feature an "inspiration," special presentations about new or revamped programs/services and end with agency sharing. The Interagency Council also gives members an opportunity to provide input on goals and planning; the resource directory website germinated through this feedback. Steering committee members played an active role in the design and review processes. Interagency Council members are committed to updating their directory listings and using the site to its full potential.
