The Calvert Alliance Against Substance Abuse, Inc. (CAASA) is a grassroots coalition of individuals and organizations dedicated to preventing alcohol and other drug abuse in Calvert County, Maryland. CAASA is a non-profit that raises funds to support this vital effort. It includes community members, schools, civic and service organizations, religious groups, businesses, public agencies and county government.
GOALS:
- To encourage citizens to take an active role in preventing alcohol and other drug abuse.
- To foster an attitude that alcohol and other drug abuse is unacceptable.
- To help those with a substance use disorder and their families achieve a drug-free lifestyle by providing treatment funding when appropriate through the use of funds from the Bernard M. Johnson Charitable Trust.
- To support the expansion of school-based substance abuse prevention activities
- To assist businesses in promoting an alcohol-free and drug-free workplace.
