The Employed Individuals with Disabilities Program extends Medical Assistance health benefits to working Marylanders with disabilities. This program allows individuals to return to work and maintain health benefits for a minimal fee.
The EID Program, administered by the Maryland Department of Health (MDH), provides Medical Assistance (also called Medicaid) to working Marylanders with disabilities who meet a few conditions. Medical Assistance:
- Covers most medical services for individuals who have no other health insurance
- Saves individuals with Medicare $1,000 - $12,000 a year
- Supplements private insurance, paying for some services that the other insurance does not cover
