With support from Washington Gas, the Washington Area Fuel Fund is administered by the local Salvation Army, providing assistance for all types of heating sources, including natural gas, electricity, oil or another fuel source.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for assistance, the following criteria must be met:
- You must reside in the Washington Gas service territory. Calvert, St. Mary's and Charles Counties are eligible.
- You must be in an emergency situation, either having service disconnected or having received a disconnection notice.
- You must meet income thresholds for low to moderate-income, based on family size.
