The Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program, a special supplemental food program provided by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service, provides federal grants for healthy supplemental foods, as well as nutrition and breastfeeding education and counseling for pregnant and postpartum women, infants and children under age 5. The Southern Maryland WIC Program serves participants in Charles, Calvert, and St. Mary’s Counties at five sites located in White Plains, Leonardtown, Lexington Park, Solomons, and Prince Frederick.
