Codependence: For those who, somewhere along the line, learned to doubt their perceptions, discount their feelings, and overlook their own needs. If you look to others to tell you what to think, feel, and behave. If other people supply you with information about who you are or should be. If it has became more important to be compliant or avoidant rather than to be authentic, or if you have adopted rigid beliefs about what “should be.” If you believe that if you can just “get it right,” things would be okay. If when you “get it wrong,” your sense of security and self-worth evaporates, CoDA can provide a safe place to seek recovery through a 12-Steps program of recovery.
